Grupo Mistral Chronology

1985

July 29 th of 1985, Grupo Mistral was founded by Jorge Massa Dustou. Initialy, Grupo Mistral was formed by Pharsana de Venezuela, Proyectos PET y Ampofrasca.

1986

Pañalex, C.A Industries was founded by Grupo Mistral. Pañalex is a company dedicated to diapers for baby’s manufacturer under the trademark Chicco. Two years later, in 1998, Sanifarma was acquiered, together to the trademark Amy, for manufacture specialized baby´s care products.

1990

Grupo Mistral fusion Pañalex and Sanifarma for dedicate to manufacture of hygienic, absorbent and disposable products. Later in 1992, Sanifarma diversified its portfolio and began the production of dippers for adults under the trademark Securezza, being pioneers in this line of products for urinary incontinence and became to Venezuelan market leader. In 1995, started the manufacture of sanitary wipes under the trademark Friends.

2004

In 2004, Grupo Mistral acquired Farmahorro, one of Venezuela top four drugstore chain, with more than 100 sale points. In 2005 the group acquired Farvenca, the fourth medicines distributor of the country. Its infrastructure is formed by two distribution centers, located in Maracay (Aragua state) and Ciuidad Bolívar (Bolivar state), supplying medicines to Farmahorro and 2500 independent drugstores throughout the country. 

2007

Grupo Mistral installed the biggest wipes plant of the country with five production lines to develop an extent variety of products in the categories: baby, makeover remover, hygienic products, housekeeping products and others, under the trademarks Chicco, Amy, Lady Face, Practiclean and Farmahorro.

2009

Proyectos PET began the construction of the closures plant with Universal Closures Ltd (UCL) technology. The Company diversify its portfolio with the production of closures for carbonated soft drinks, bottled water, edible oil and isotonic drinks. In 2001 started the production of returnable big bottles for water.  

2014

Farvenca built its new robotized distribution center, located in Maracay and robotized its distribution center in the west of the country (Ciudad Bolívar). Farvenca diversified its buisness and started the sell and distribution of miscellaneous products for both Farmahorro drugstore chain and independent drugstores.

2016

Sanifarma increased its brochure and installed three new production line for manufacture sanitary towels for light urinary incontinence with the trademark Activa.

 2018

With a global vision, began export plans, with products of Pharsana, Proyectos PET and Sanifarma to Panama, Dominic Republic and Guatemala. The challenge of the group is introduce its products in Central America, Caribbean and Andean Pact.
